In 2014, Sofina became a shareholder in Mérieux NutriSciences Corporation following a capital increase that aimed at supporting the growth of the group, which was active in a consolidating market. Institut Mérieux has been the majority shareholder of the company since 1997 as a result of the acquisition of the Silliker group in the US. In 2021 Institut Mérieux, Sofina and GIMD participated in a capital increase in order to support the group’s international expansion and to strengthen its position.
